Julian Wheatland is the founder and Chief Executive of Hatton International. Julian is an experienced financier and international project development expert. He specialises in cross-border and inward investment transactions, with a particular focus on international trade and economic development projects in emerging economies. Julian is also an internationally recognised expert in assisting global defence and aerospace contractors with their economic development (offset) commitments to customer countries. Before founding Hatton International, Julian was head of the International Division at the UK structured finance house, Consensus Business Group. At Consensus he built an $800m international investment portfolio and developed FDI projects in North America, Eastern Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Prior to Consensus, Julian was a Founder of Edengene, the specialist strategic innovation business and was a Managing Consultant at PA Consulting, where he was an authority on entrepreneurial venture development. Julian is a Chartered Engineer and an MBA graduate of The Wharton Business School.
Nigel Oakes was educated at Eton College and UCL, where he studied Psychology. In 1982 he joined Monte Carlo TV as a producer and in 1985 became the Head of International Production. Two years later, Nigel joined Saatchi and Saatchi as a Senior Producer. In 1989, he established the Behavioural Dynamics Working Group at University College London and in 1990 the Behavioural Dynamics Institute (BDi) was formed as a centre of excellence and a research facility for strategic communication. In 1993 Nigel set up Strategic Communication Laboratories and using the new communication methodology from BDi, ran election campaigns and national communication campaigns for a broad variety of international governments. Published clients include South Africa, USA, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Antigua, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Grenada, Nepal, Pakistan and Switzerland.
Alexander Nix was educated at Eton College and Manchester University. He began his career as a financial analyst with Baring Securities in Mexico and thereafter in the UK with Robert Fraser & Partners LLP, a boutique Corporate Finance and tax advisory firm. In 2003 Alexander left finance to join the SCL Group as a Director, where his responsibilities included growing SCL internationally, together with opening new markets for SCL's many behavioural products and services. In 2007 he directed his efforts to developing the elections division, including opening new offices in Washington DC and Delhi and growing the global staff to over 300 employees. Over the past 9 years Alexander has worked on more than 40 political campaigns in the US, Caribbean, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. In 2010 Alexander opened SCL Social, a not-for-profit, international development agency dedicated to applying SCL’s behavioural change communication strategies to humanitarian, health and development projects around the world.
Roger Gabb is Executive Chairman of Western Wines Ltd, a £100m turnover business that he built up over twenty years to supply wine to the UK supermarket sector. His earlier career included introducing Volvic mineral water into the UK and a period with Distillers Company as European Brand Manager.
David has over thirty-five years of experience as a personal advisor and mentor to Heads of State; Chairman, Presidents, and CEO's of international entities. He is a consultant to major private sector corporations, governmental entities and political leaders on matters associated with business, economic and political restructuring, strategic problem resolution and the related financial and economic negotiations. He has also advised law enforcement entities and litigation professionals on matters involving fraud, corruption, and illegal international transactions. David contributes to the policy and strategic planning debates through commentaries and publications on strategic business/financial/economic development, international debt, trade, and investment. He is the elected President of the Foreign Press Association in the United States, and is authoring ‘Dust on the Chess Board” - a fictionalized insight into the activities of major global industries with geopolitical affairs between 1977 and 1982, with an alternative view of events leading to the Falklands War.
Sir James was educated in St. Vincent and at the Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture in Trinidad and Tobago and the University of British Columbia, Canada. An agriculturist by profession, Sir James worked with the Government and in the Ministry of Overseas Development in London and as an agricultural research officer for the St. Vincent Government. Sir James has been a dominant figure in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for almost three decades. He became Prime Minister in July 1984 and was re-elected for a fourth successive term when his Party scored a resounding victory in the Parliamentary Elections of 15 June 1998. He initially entered politics in 1966 by winning a legislative seat as a candidate of the St. Vincent Labour Party. In 1975 he founded the New Democratic Party (NDP) becoming Parliamentary Opposition Leader until 1984.

Mark was a former managing director at Bell Pottinger, advising world leaders in politics and business – from managing election campaigns to building brands and reputations in highly contested sectors like pharmaceuticals, mining and petrochemicals. For the past 12 years Mark has directed 'social change' communications campaigns to reframe and shape conflict environments in Iraq, the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. He is an Honorary Fellow at the Strategy & Security Institute, University of Exeter.
MSc in Economics and International Development (School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London), BA African Studies and Development (University of Birmingham)Peri's work with SCL includes managing research projects and advising clients on communications strategy. Before joining SCL, Peri spent several years working in microfinance and was later employed as the Policy and Administrative Coordinator of the UK Parliament's All-Party Group on Microfinance. In that role, he liaised with MPs, NGOs and large corporate partners such as Barclays to develop policies and programmes across and experience of managing projects in Asia and Africa, and has coordinated the promotion of inclusive financial services in the UK Parliament. He holds a Master of Science from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and a Bachelors in African Studies and Development from the University of Birmingham. Peri's overseas professional experience extends across West Africa and the Caribbean, in addition to his experience in UK politics and the financial services industry.
Gaby has led projects for companies, governments, militaries and NGOs across the globe in countries in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. She is a specialist in behavioural research design, data collection and evidence-led strategy development with field experience in over 15 countries, and has led operational and policy research on a wide range of topics including child marriage, violent jihadism, nutrition, food security, unemployment, electoral campaigns and crime and recidivism. Gaby has also led major training projects on behaviour change research and measuring effectiveness for a range of clients including the UK Government and NATO. Gaby is a sociologist by training, with degrees from the London School of Economics and University College Utrecht.
MA in Sociology and Politics (Cambridge), BA in International Relations (Keele)Sabhita has an extensive professional record having worked in various locations through out Africa and Asia over the course of her career. On joining SCL Sabhita was the humanitarian affairs advisor for Medecins Sans Frontieres (Spain), and formerly the senior programme officer for Somalia with the International Peace Building Alliance. Prior to this she spent thirteen years at the commonwealth secretariat, eventually rising to a political affairs advisor position – acting as head of the good offices section. At SCL Sabhita is a senior programme manager and is charged with the co-ordination of various teams. In Addition to her purely professional duties Sabhita has edited and published a number of articles related to regional peace building and youth mobilization.
Al Han is the West Coast Business Development Coordinator at Cambridge Analytica, working with clients to develop data-driven, targeted, and cost- effective campaigns. Han specializes in advising political campaigns, ballot initiatives, and non-profit organizations on achieving goals for strategic marketing, targeting and engagement with (their) respective audiences.
MA in Politics of the Middle East, BA in International Politics (School of Oriental and African Studies, London)During university years, Alexandra participated in several research project across the MENA region and her research has mainly focused on Political Islam, social movement mobilisation, and radicalisation. Prior to joining SCL Alexandra worked as a financial analyst with a leading Tunisian manufacturing company supplying various products to clients in Africa. Alexandra worked directly with the company’s Director of Finance, managing the structure of a new business plan. Within this role she worked explicitly in French and Arabic. During her time in Tunisia Alexandra also engaged in the country’s challenging democratic transition through various projects in media, social entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. Throughout the summer of 2014 she was working on one of the main presidential campaign and accompanied the candidate to every region of Tunisia a head of the elections in October 2014. Alexandra joined SCL and started working on international projects across all disciplines within the business. Most recently, Alexandra managed elements of a large qualitative research project in Saudi Arabia where she worked in tandem with a local research partner to collect public opinions on a variety of social and economic issues and develop a civic engagement strategy for the client.

MA in Dynamic and Clinical Psychology (La Sapienza University, Italy)Bianca graduated with honours in dynamic and clinical psychology from La Sapienza in Rome, one of Europe's oldest and most respected universities. After she completed her master's degree, Bianca started her career in marketing research at one of the largest communication consultancy firms in Italy. A move to London opened the doors to a lead role in project management, where Bianca - supported by her experience, skills and education - was responsible for analyzing problems and delivering innovative research-based solutions. As a marketing psychologist at SCL Group, Bianca acts as an essential bridge between the data and creative teams. She develops quantitative and qualitative guidelines and research frameworks for the company's Behavioural Microtargeting methodology. She is passionate about exploring unprecedented areas of psychographics and persuasion science in order to develop cutting-edge marketing techniques, products and services for the commercial and political arenas.
Brendan Johns is our Head of Human Resources & Talent Acquisition. Responsible for the full employee lifecycle for our head office and international locations within SCL Group, Brendan has extensive experience supporting global start up technology companies from a talent perspective. With international Human Resources & Talent Acquisition experience across the Americas, APAC, EMEA and the United Kingdom, Brendan joined SCL Group in April 2016.
MSc in Public Service Management (DePaul University), BA in Sociology (Indiana University)Erin joined SCL in 2016 as a project manager in the DC office. Her diverse project management experience includes technical and non-technical projects across the public and private sectors. She most recently worked as government consultant for a large research institute and has experience advising large organizations on process development and initiative planning. PhD in Astrophysics (New York University), BSc (Ben-Gurion University of the Negev)Dr. Eyal Kazin joined the SCL Group in November of 2014 after leaving the Dark Forces of Cosmology research. Specialising in Big Data analysis and interpretation, he uses means such as Machine Learning techniques to analyse personality traits of individuals as well as the reliability of data used. Eyal is enthusiastic about creating the “plot the hasn’t been made before” to derive and communicate actionable insights. Outside of work Eyal has a broad range of hobbies from guitar playing, tennis, photography, home movie productions. Dabbling in various languages and accents he doesn’t mind embarrassing himself by attempting stand up comedy .
Filipe, a junior full-stack developer, joined SCL in June 2015 at the age of 18. Being a young developer Filipe learned how to code at the age of 13, and developed and deployed his own website. Today he uses technologies such as NodeJS, AngularJS, MongoDB, SASS and other to create fully responsive websites and web apps. When Filipe is not busy developing, he spends his time playing computer games, around cars and developing home automation software.
BA in Joint Honours French and German (University of Bristol)A former management consultant, Hannah has built an extensive knowledge of project disciplines in a range of business sectors. Areas of expertise include agile and waterfall project management, change management and business analysis. Hannah is accredited in PRINCE2, Agile PM certified, BCS Business Analysis and has a merit award from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in internal business communications. Prior to joining SCL, Hannah worked as a project manager and senior business analyst at a data science consultancy and has experience delivering complex data science projects in collaboration with a team of data scientists. LLB Law (King's College London)Helen spent her childhood in Africa, the Middle East and the UK before completing her education in London. A degree in Law led her, somewhat surprisingly, to join the graduate programme at one of London's most respected agencies, J Walter Thompson (JWT). Here, she worked on global through-the-line campaigns for Vodafone, Nestle and Bayer before pursuing a career in digital communications (and the sun) in Sydney, Australia. With over 12 years' experience in Europe, the US and Asia Pacific on multi-channel campaigns for world-leading brands like American Express, Volvo and Huawei, Helen is well-versed in crafting campaigns for mixed audiences on subject matters from financial trading to emerging technologies. Her passion lies in developing unexpected, cut-through and creative solutions for commercial problems.
BA in Politics (University of Essex & University of North Carolina Chapel Hill)James is a project manager at SCL, designing and managing research and communications projects around the world. These have included large and small TAA projects, as well as election campaigns and other similar work. Recent projects have included managing client relations on American data and digital marketing projects, as well field management of a large research project in Africa that involved household interviews with over 40,000 respondents. On that project, James was deployed to the field and managed different aspects of data collection, data analysis, local partnerships and client relations.
BA Hons in Industrial Design (University of Technology, Sydney)Raised in Australia, Jessica graduated from the University of Technology in Sydney with honours in Industrial Design. After completing her studies, she undertook a variety of international design and leadership roles in Asia before arriving in London. These roles included a delegate position at the 5th University Scholars Leadership Symposium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and industrial designer working on a high-profile urban agricultural project in Hong Kong. Jessica is part of the creative department at SCL Group, where her role as designer lets her apply her visual skills, cross-cultural experience and passion for design to a wide range of exciting political and commercial communication projects around the world.
BA in Politics and American Studies (University of Nottingham)During her time at university, Jordanna concentrated on the theory and methods of political communication focusing specifically on how they can be used to facilitate institutional change. This interest led Jordanna to spend a year studying at Binghamton University, New York where she also spent time working in a variety of positions at a local news channel. Prior to joining SCL, Jordanna participated in a variety of political programmes that saw her address the House of Lords, Government and members of the UN on issues surrounding underrepresentation and social inclusion. Her passion for these issues continues today and has led her to most recently organise the world’s first youth led interfaith summit. Jordanna joined SCL in 2015 and has most recently started working in the operations division. Her main duties are to assist the Group CCO/ CFO with the execution of SCL's overall business strategy and progression.
BSc in Mathematics and Statistics (University of Reading)Josh Coe joined SCL Elections in 2014 as a data scientist, specialising in linear & non-linear modeling and statistical interpretation. Before joining SCL, Josh spent several years working in the USA and Switzerland for IMI plc gaining a wealth of knowledge in data analytics, project management and international business. Josh has also held the position of Research Executive at Creative Medical Research.
BA Hons in Visual Communication (Loughborough University)With an honours degree in visual communications from Loughborough University, Katy started her career in marketing and communications in London and Sydney, at large organizations including BSkyB, CBRE Asia Pacific and UNSW Australia. At SCL Group, Katy is a key player in the creative development of concepts, design and graphics for global campaigns across the USA, East and West Africa for commercial and political clients. Katy's passion for global travel and cross-cultural learning has led her to explore some of the world's most exciting regions, gaining invaluable experience of visual culture along the way. She continues to add to her qualifications with further study at Oxford University, where she has recently obtained a certificate in Islamic Visual Culture.
BSc in Applied Accounting (University of Oxford Brookes)Kenneth has been working in accounting for over ten years with various Industries from start-ups, hedge funds, Financial Services, Public Sector and Practice firms. Kenneth joined the finance team at SCL in early 2015 and has since that time played a pivotal role in project financing and administration. A member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, Kenneth has solid background in preparation of Accounts using UK GAAP, IFRS as well as Statutory Accounts reporting and Management Accounts. Kenneth is today responsible for preparation of SCL Accounts, management Accounts, Audit preparation, Project Costing as well as identification and implementation of accounting procedures in compliance with current Accounting Standards.
MSc in International Public Policy (University College London)Krystyna joined SCL as a consultant in 2014 . She has a specific interest and expertise in public policy gained from her MSc in International Public Policy from University College London. Prior to joining SCL, Krystyna used her skills and experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis to aid client planning against reputational risk in the communications industry. She has also worked for local government, again using her experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis, ascertaining gaps in local services. Outside her work with SCL, Krystyna has an exceptional appetite for charity work having previously volunteered extensively in Africa and Central America. Currently, her charitable work is focused on empowering local youth organisations.
MSc in International and European Politics (Edinburgh)Marcus’ vast wealth of experience as a consultant in various sectors of policy and communication makes him one of SCL Social’s most valuable project managers. Having spent his childhood in a number of different countries, Marcus has lived and worked in over a dozen international locations with intergovernmental and governmental organisations , NGOs commercial bodies, academic institutions and media outlets. Having started his career in academia, he thereafter worked in the arenas of health and social policy for the UK government before joining the private sector to work as a public affairs consultant for governments, corporations and NGOs. His career to date has included two years spent in field as a country analyst – including six months in West Africa – before he becoming a Political Affairs Adviser to the UK Commonwealth Secretary General. In this role, he advised senior management on their responses to ongoing issues and crisis situations. His role with the commonwealth encompassed the design and delivery of technical assistance and capacity building programmes, in addition to leading a number of election monitoring missions. On joining the SCL team Marcus has taken a primary role in the organisation and execution of field projects and and acts as the key liaison officer for senior governmental and political stakeholders on the projects with which he is charged.
MSc Social Research Methods - Government (London School of Economics & Political Science) BA International Relations (University of Sussex)Laura joined SCL in 2016 as the company’s in-house research methodologist, using her training and skills in social and commercial research to inform the design and execution of SCL projects and broader offer. She is responsible for ensuring all research is appropriately designed and meets SCL’s internal guidelines, as well as working to develop new methodologies that support client needs. Before joining SCL, Laura spent more than four years in the commercial market research industry. She is specialist in large-scale strategic research, taking projects through from design to analysis and delivery. Her experience includes the design and execution of both quantitative and qualitative research globally across the public and private sector, including those using advanced analytics (e.g. segmentation, maxdiff) and online qualitative methods (e.g. online communities and focus groups). She is particularly passionate about advanced quantitative research, with a love of designing and analysing complex quantitative data and using it to create a powerful story for her clients. Laura’s past experience includes: BIS, HMRC, the Home Office, Kerry Foods, LEGO Education, O2, the Post Office, Phillips, Samaritans and a global food and drink manufacturer.
MA in International Peace and Security (King’s College London), BA in International Relations (Anglo-American University, Prague)Livia completed the MA graduate programme at the Department of War Studies at King’s College London where she focused on international law, specifically governing use of force by states, and on conflict management and resolution. Livia also has a particular interest in the area of human trafficking from legislation to law enforcement. Before completing her masters in London, Livia spent several years living and studying in a number of countries, including Canada, France, Czech Republic, Belgium and the UK. Before joining SCL, Livia worked in New York at an international strategic consultancy specialising in strategic advice to domestic and international clients across advocacy, communications, event organisation, and public diplomacy. Prior to this, Livia also completed a number of internships, including at EUobserver.com, the independent online newspaper reporting on EU affairs, and underwent training in Peace-building at International Alert. Livia re-joined SCL in October 2015 as an Operations Executive working closely with the CEO across sales worldwide and process coordination.
LL.M. in Public International Law (Leiden University), BA in International and European Studies (Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences)Prior to joining SCL, Kyriakos had been employed in a variety of research, communications and administrative roles, for a range of employers including the European Parliament, London-based think-tanks and the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In addition to his research and project management skills, he brings a knowledge of politics and international & European law in conjunction with exposure to economics and social policy. Kyriakos’ interests lie in the area of EU institutional reform, domestic Greek politics, and comparative European responses to extremism and social problems; he has contributed to a number of articles and reports concerning these topics.
MSc in Globalisation and Development (School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London), BSc in Biological Sciences (University of Bristol)Pippa has recently joined SCL from the law firm Linklaters where she managed a number of multimillion-pound legal projects and was seconded to clients overseas. She spent 5 months in Washington D.C. working for a key client as a business development and project management consultant. She is also experienced in managing internal process improvement projects and delivering project management training. She holds a Master of Science from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Bristol and is a qualified APM Project Manager.
Having spent the early part of his career working in a multinational finance organisation, Richard has built on a background in Engineering to specialise in infrastructure automation on Open-Source platforms. With a deep interest in information security, he has focussed on applications of Strong Cryptography and its use within automated systems. He also dabbles in a number of personal projects including software-defined radio, and enjoys road cycling, and sings and plays the violin in chamber ensembles.
BA in Graphic Design for Interactive Media (Bath School of Art & Design)After graduating from the Bath School of Art & Design, Robin was snapped up by a number of award-winning creative studios to work on flagship clients from government and financial services to retail and ecommerce organizations. He joined SCL Group from world-renowned creative agency Ogilvy & Mather London, where he oversaw advertising and brand development projects for Expedia, BP, Phillips, American Express, Amnesty International and the UK Cabinet Office. Robin prides himself on his resourceful and pragmatic approach to delivering innovative creative solutions and is passionate about producing work that is both effective and aesthetic in equal measure.
PhD in Dark Matter Physics (King's College London), MPhys in Theoretical Physics (University of Durham)Prior to joining SCL, Tom was a physicist using statistical methods to infer the distribution of dark matter particles in our neighbouring galaxies from the dynamics of their stars. After completing his PhD, Tom took a keen interest in data driven modeling and still enjoys competing in global online machine learning competitions on Kaggle. Tom's hobbies and interests include bass guitar, rugby and single malt whisky.
Allan Lorraine heads the SCL Group Australia and New Zealand arm, who joined the Global SCL Group in mid-2015. In this role, Allan leads his business intelligence team with a focus on; Behavioural Micro-targeting, Behaviour Marketing, Big Data, Data Visualization, and Business Process Management Solutions. Allan has over 15 years of experience working in areas related to business analytics, in professional services consulting, specifically in the Automotive industry. He has helped organisations solve their business analytics problems whether they relate to operational platforms, such as; behavioural marketing solutions, accurate enquiry capture systems, process development and rectification, sales psychology solutions and customer relations management development. During his professional career, Allan has worked in; Australia’s largest Automotive Global Corporate, Retail (Management/Customer Facing) and has operated his own successful small business for the last 4 years. He understands the different cultures and demands of each setting. In March 2013, Allan founded BIResults, an automotive consulting and analysis firm that provides business intelligence expertise. His clients are both industry leading distributors and Dealers in Australia and New Zealand on all facets of the automotive industry. Prior to starting his own firm, Allan was a General Sales Manager at Australia’s highest selling Lexus Dealership. Allan now specialises in partnering with businesses who wish to develop effective solutions and understand the need for professional service, clear communication and a finished product that delivers results. Allan’s passions are rooted in analytics associated with the events of business process and the behavioural events of people to provide knowledge on various business models. Nikola Spasov is Head of SCL Balkans and a communication professional with over 10 years of the experience in the field of political campaign management and political polling. He has a strong educational background in strategic communication and public relations, holding an MA degree in communication form the New York University. Nikola is owner of Rating Agency in Macedonia, the leading polling firm in Macedonia specialized in political research and strategic communications. In the past ten years, he has been working as key consultant on all election cycles in Macedonia and on several campaigns in the Balkan region. He is consulting local campaigns, presidential candidates and national parties. On regular basis, Nikola is advising mayors and politicians in Macedonia on how to improve their political communication using research as a basic instrument for strategy building. His main expertise in transforming research data into effective, ready to use communication and strategy insights.
Danilo Angela is the co-founder and former director of A&HCG. Currently Danilo serves as a consultant to the company while he resides in Amsterdam completing his studies in Political Science. Danilo was educated at the University of Aruba and is dedicated to marketing, communications, and politics. During his studies at the University of Aruba Danilo functioned as an account manager at a local advertising agency before co-founding A&HCG in 2010 with his partner Curtney Hart.
Kojo Hasting has over 20 years experience of project management, working primarily in UK and Africa. Kojo has spent these years providing the public and private sector with insights on African markets and customers, and helping to deliver major infrastructure improvements in Ghana, one of which includes construction of a number of new 'state of the art' hospitals that now provides the population of Ghana with better healthcare.
Anije Lambert, Founder and Director Anije Lambert is a social researcher at heart, with her main focus being on the areas of Human Resource Management and Research Methodologies. She is the holder of a Bachelors Degree in Sociology (Hons) from the University of Guyana. Anije has a plethora of experience in the areas of Data Collection, Data Analysis and Data Management and has worked in managerial positions and consulted with a range of International Research Companies. As a consultant, Anije was given the opportunity to work alongside and coordinate research projects for clients such as IPSOS, Coca-Cola, Public Ministries, Financial Institutions, and other Non- Governmental Agencies. Darius Antanaitis is the head of SCL operations in Lithuania. Darius has toured Iraq as an Information Operations Officer of the UK (InfoOps). His role included persuading Iraqis to support UK troops and to conduct deception operations in order to decrease number of casualties of British troops and to discredit high command of Iraqi insurgents. Between August 1996 and March 2008 Darius was a platoon commander in the Lithuanian Army, which required him to plan, command, conduct and control the training of 130 soldiers as well as to plan and execute logistical support for the Company. Darius has a BA in Military Science from Lietuvos Karo Akademija, Military Academy of Lithuania.

Ali Martinez, was educated at Complutense University in Madrid. He began his career as a project director with CARE in South Sudan. Ali soon started diversifying his career yet continued in humanitarian institutions such as UNFPA and AECID. This diversification allowed visiting more than 60 countries as a business consultant and as an NGO consultant. He then left the humanitarian career and joined political analysis as a free lancer in East Africa and the Middle East. Through 2010-2014 Ali became the Executive Director of the unofficial Sudanese Spanish Business Forum created by the Mr. Juan Gonzalez Barba increasing Spanish investment on the area significantly. Ali also became a personal advisor to several African leading politicians in the area. Mr. Giannakopoulos was in charge of a three-year research program financed by the Swiss Confederation entitled "Swiss Corruption and Organized Crime". Prior to this, he has been active in many research programs and has carried out numerous analyses for large institutions. He has closely collaborated with magistrates and police services and was rewarded with the medal of Merit from the Brazilian judicial authorities. Having played played basketball with the Turkish National Team from 1993 to 1996, Semih later studied International Business at Southern New Hampshire University from 1996 to 2000. Upon his return to Turkey, he initially began working in the marketing department of Hilmi Beken Ltd. In 2004 he moved to Istanbul to work as the export manager for a large international company with a presence in Turkey. In 2006 Semih again relocated to the US exercising his entrepreneurial skill in starting a business focused on importing furniture and components for distribution into North America. Based in Miami his work eventually expanded into the sphere of real estate, where he marketed and sold properties particularly to international clients. After a number of years in the United States he moved back to Turkey and became the CEO of Hilmi Beken Ltd. A business with multiple interests and operational arms, today Semih overseas the diverse range of operations undertaken by Hilmi Beken including petrol stations, retail locations, bakeries, restaurants, and construction services. Semih is the founding member and currently Chairman of the Board of YÖRSİAD (“Nomads Business & Industrialist Association”). He is also a delegate of Antalya for TABGİS, (“Turkish Oil Station Owners, Oil & Gas Companies Union”), as well as a founding member and currently board member of TEAM, (“Social Economic Research Center”). Along with his above responsibilities Semih is a principle member of SCL Turkey, and a key liaison for operations throughout the region.
